India and the EU concluded FTA negotiations in January 2026, while their wider agenda includes technology, security, research, clean energy and connectivity. The July 2026 Trade and Technology Council also expanded cooperation in advanced technologies.

Trade can provide the foundation while technology, security and research make the relationship more resilient.
